Job Description

Position: Business Development Manager

Location: Southern California regional area (Los Angeles and Orange County)

Compensation: Commission plus base

 

 

POSITION OVERVIEW

 

The Business Development Sales Representative (BDSR) sells the firm’s IT services offerings to small, mid, and large size prospects. The BDSR may have a secondary focus on penetrating certain assigned customers with significant growth opportunity, as assigned by management. The BDSR closes and implements growth opportunities of moderate complexity within an assigned geography.

 

The BDSR’s most important means of interacting with customers and prospects is through face-to-face meetings. The BDSR is responsible for achieving an assigned sales and profit goals.

 

The BSDR is expected to have an established network of contacts that can be leveraged as sales prospects.

 

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Acquires new customers from an assigned geography, and/or a set of named prospects.

 

  • Leads all aspects of the sales process, while calling upon other company resources to assist in solution development, proposal delivery, and implementation, as needed or as directed by management.

 

  • Sells IT services to assigned opportunities.

 

  • Refers opportunities for growth in services to other company sales resources as appropriate.

 

  • Maintains involvement in new customers’ implementation by managing customers’ expectations and satisfaction with the implementation process.

 

  • Ensures a seamless transition of customer responsibility to a company Account Manager following a successful implementation.

 

  • Assists other sales and services resources when called upon by management.

 

  • Assists in the creation of sales and marketing collateral as requested by management.

 

 

ACCOUNTABILITIES AND PERFORMANCE MEASURES

 

  • Achieves assigned sales quota.

  • Meets assigned expectations for profitability.

  • Achieves new account acquisition targets.

  • Completes required training and development objectives within the assigned time frames.

 

ORGANIZATIONAL ALIGNMENT

 

  • Reports to the President.

 

  • Enlists the support of implementation resources, and other sales and management resources as needed.

 

  • Transitions new accounts to the Account Manager.

 

  • Works with customers and implementation resources to ensure customer satisfaction and service resolution objectives are met.

 

  • This position has no direct reports.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Four year college degree from an accredited institution.

 

  • Minimum three years of outside sales experience in a business-to business sales environment.

 

  • Prior track record of achievement in positions with significant accountability.

 

  • Established network of contacts that can be leveraged as sales prospects.

 

 

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

 

  • This position may require frequent travel.

 

  • Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and passport.
